Caption Contest: poultry vs. robot in a duel to the death
From Engadget - I couldnt help but chuckle
We're told this type of battle is indeed legal in certain corners of the universe, but we honestly never thought we'd see the day when a gallinaceous bird came to the human's side to fend off the impending robotic takeover.
Ryan: "That sound? Seth Green and Adult Swim filing suit over the Robot Chicken trademark."
Thomas: "Quit your cock blocking and fight!"
Darren: "These wooden posts are such lame excuses for adequate prostheses."
Paul: "Look, I know you're scared. We're all scared. But if robots and robo-chickens can't learn to live in harmony, we might as well just let the humans have the earth all to themselves."
Evan: "Not surprisingly, the martial arts sequel to Howard the Duck tanked at the box office."
Don: "2019: Despite repeated protests from People for the Ethical Treatment of Robots, the title bout between Robo Chicken and BD "Boxy Hands" 209 went on as planned."
Josh: "I love you!" -- "It'll never work!"

Avenue Q, I can only say, stands up to the expectations I had before seeing it. Sesame Street for adults just doesnt do it justice. It had a story, a moral, and singing but was far beyond PC. I cant wait for the cast recording.
Thanks David, it was a great birthday present. WOOF!

Birthdays
Yesterday started out as what would appear to be a bad birthday. I tossed and turned all night, and work consisted of trying to communicate with people who just couldn't grasp that their trouble really had simple solutions. They were bent on the fact they had a problem and wanted it to be a major problem. They weren't understanding the simplest things I was saying and wanted to argue that the mouse was a lot bigger than it was. As soon as we came to a solution, I had them on phone and chat so long, they used that line that makes me cringe "well since I have you on the phone".
Needless to say calls were long and my day was just frustrating. The best solution I had for salvation was to take the fork that was sitting on my desk and jab it into my throat.
Finally my work day ended and things took a fantastic turn for the better. I met Elizabeth (my old coworker) for coffee. We spent about 20 minutes catching up and I had a great time. Then off to meet Rick and Timm for a drink at the Mint. I arrived and they were sitting there. They got me a bottle of vodka and a HUGE martini glass which reminded me of the one we had at Tara that was once used for tips.
Joined after a while by John, and finally David showed up, it was a great time of singing and friends. We stayed about 4 hours and I sang about 10 tunes.
Dont Tell Mama
They Dont Know About Us
Your Song
Razzle Dazzle
Class (which I sang with
Grease Megamix (with the 4 of us)
There Are Worse Things I Could Do
The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia
Hot Shot
Wasted On The Way
Your Song
Big Spender (for David who got a new job making more money to buy me more cocktails-Congrats!)
I cant remember all the songs but I finally ended with what I thought was my best yet rendition of All That Jazz. Off to the Edge for one and then home.
Tonight is Avenue Q. I cant wait. It should be a blast.
Thanks guys for making my birthday fantastic. I love you!

My First Russian River Experience

After a grueling Friday at work of dealing with the "not so bright" people, David and I took off for Guerneville around 2:45. Traffic heading up was a bit much but we arrived around 6. We checked into the Inn at the Willows, set up the grill and tent, went to Safeway for food and came back and fixed a cocktail.
We decided that we would rather go eat somewhere so we ventured down to a place that sold burgers and sushi (yeah weird but theres a place like that here in SF down on 3rd near South Park). We stopped by the Rainbow Cattle Company for a few drinks before heading back to the camp site for a quick disco spin and some free vodka (well vodka we bought). We headed back out to the Rainbow Cattle Company, got a bit drunk, headed over to check out the piano bar at Triple R, and I dont remember anything after that point or going back to the tent. I dont think it was because I was drunk so much as I was up since 5am and exhausted.
Saturday we went for breakfast at Pats. Nice little diner, great food, and a fantastic waitress who reminded me of my mom in a weird way. On the way back, I wanted to walk out on the bridge to get some pictures. There we ran into my friend David (Men In Gear/Lonestar) and he asked if we would be over at the pool. He was staying over at the Triple R and we were planning on hitting the pool there anyway. We changed into some shorts and headed over. It was a great time. Met a couple from San Mateo who both seemed nice. I found out from the one, later that night, that he mistook me for vanilla earlier that afternoon and thats why he didnt say too much to me. We hung out with David and his partner, and David (my David) ran into some friends of his. I saw some people I knew as well.
That night David got sick which we think may have been food poisoning. We arent sure where but he wasnt up to going out. He stayed at the tent and slept while I went out to meet the guys. It was a fun night. I really enjoyed hanging out with the guys from San Mateo, David and his partner, the bartender Chris at the Rainbow Cattle Company, as well as another guy who was showing us how much he liked cock. I found out later from him that he was sewing his wild oats after coming out of a 6 1/2 year relationship.
So this morning it was breakfast again at Pats, and packing up to head back. It was a great weekend and I really enjoyed the Russian River. I plan on going back but next time Im going to be staying at the Triple R. Seems like thats where all the fun really happens.
