Up Your Alley

Was a fun day, I met David for breakfast. Ran into Morty and his partner and the 4 of us enjoyed breakfast and good conversation.

Home for a change. David had his harness, collar & leash, along with his new gauntlets and new boots. Woof!

I wore my harness, leather pants, boots, along with my flashing dog bone necklace that is always a hit.

So finally to the fair where we met up with the rest of the puppies for some quick bonding time before everyone disappeared on their own.

Coctails at Powerhouse, over to the Eagle, and finally back to Castro where we finally ended the day, grabbed food, and went back to my place to watch Buffy. Dopplergangland seemed most appropriate for the day.

Friday

So work came and went on Friday and I headed home for a quick nap and then prepare. My first time cooking for David.

The menu was pretty simple because I'm not usually a big cook but still it was above hotdogs or pasta. I made Chicken French which sounds a bit more interesting than it is. Its an East Coast thing and I used to love ordering in restaurants.

The chicken dipped in flour and egg (not breaded) and fried till almost done. Then re-added to a pan of butter and red wine to finish (topped with fresh lemon juice). Yum...

With the chicken was a baked potato and asparagus (mmmm). I set the table with a bottle of wine, and candles and scooby doo laying softly in the background (to satisfy the geek in us). We had banana cream pie for desert and eveything was wonderful.

At 9 he headed home and I was off to patrol. Castro was pretty festive when we started but I think the bars may have been having "straight" night because every fag decided to bring at least 1 fag hag, and straight girls without one must have been out hunting for one of their own.

Nothing too exciting to report. We finished and went to the Edge for a few.

This morning HP arrived on my doorstep. I went to breakfast with pup_ajax,tJohn and Kenji. Now on to a bubble bath and to begin the final journey of HP and the DH.

iPhone

iphone.jpg
So I've seen people who have one and have seen the demonstrations. Although I agree that its great, there are some features that I was anticipating to be included, that were left out. After all my talk about wanting one (which still could happen), there were a couple of possible deal breakers.

First and foremost is the ability to copy and paste. I realized how much I need that to be a feature of my phone. I use this when copying parts of emails, SMS, or even from a Word document on my Treo. Who wants to rewrite everything.

The second thing is the Bluetooth. With BT 2.0 I thought it would have the ADCP coding which allows for music to be transmitted in stero to a BT headset or headphones. This isn't an option.

The biggest conclusion I'm finding when I talk tp people that have them, comes down to this. Many who upgraded from a non smartphone, really like it because of all the features they didn't have. Those who have upgraded from a smartphone are the ones who aren't as satisfied as they thought they would be (not saying they aren't happy, just that it lacks the perfection they had hoped for).

Here's my stand. I don't want to switch from Sprint because I've always had luck in finding a signal. I think the Treo 755p is a good upgrade for now and if Apple puts those features in the iphone I have no problem upgrading later. The thing is the Treo is $579 and you get $280 back in rebates. I don't want to wait. I also don't want to sign a new contract with Sprint for 2 years.

We shall see what happens around mid August when I'm ready to upgrade.

I wont say I quit but....

After smoking for 23 years and being just over a pack a day, Im finally going to try again to give it up. I recently went to my doctor and he prescribed Chantix. I started taking them last week and yesterday was supposed to be my quit day. I was proud, I went all day without one but did mess up when I went out drinking and had just 1. Either way, Im still proud with 1 all day. Today will be 0 (I hope).
