The look of pain in my eye
Since my eye incident, Ive been wearing my glasses and who knew they were a man magnet? Not only did I have that guy from beer bust Sunday (which I have a date with Saturday night), I also was on my way to work Monday morning and on MUNI was this cute guy. We kept doing one of those "only make small eye contact to show Im looking" type of things.
So my stop is Montgomery, and I get off but see him from behind. He gets off behind me, we walk upstairs toward Market, and I saw him head the other direction on the other side. This happens often but what doesnt usually happen is the voice from behind me as Im walking up the stairs.
"are you just going to run away from me?" I heard. It was the guy from the train.
"I couldnt run away from you" I said back....(smooth right? lol).
We talked a bit till we hit the corner of Market and 1st where I needed to get to work. He gave me his card and told me he usually gets off the train at Embarcadero but followed me off because he wanted to talk to me.
Ive met people on MUNI before but dont recall having someone get off at a different stop than usual just to approach me. Its either the glasses or some guys can see the look of pain in my eyes (literally).

Weekend Update
So my weekend update
Friday-Work announced that they changed their mind and wanted to give their employees a step above what the law now allows, and instead of 1 PTO hour for every 30 hours worked, they will give us 1 PTO hour for every 20 hours worked. The other job that I had 2 great phone interviews for, although they both liked me, decided they needed someone with more healthcare management experience for opening a new office in SF. I can understand it since it would be the only office located in SF and the responsibility to get it up and running would be a huge amount of work. Either way, I feel like it was still a win situation with the extra time offered by my current job. I will stay where Im at for the time being and reconsider changing jobs again after my vacation rolls around in May. If something else comes in between, I may look into it but for now Im happy with what I have.
Friday night I had patrol which was decent however Im beginning to realize that there are becoming too many people in charge. Ive been patrolling since December and there has been several new people who are apparently "on the board" who Ive never really seen or heard about since Ive been doing it. Either way, its a bit irritating to show up for a patrol and always feel like a "newbie" because someone new is "in charge". Im going to eventually give my feedback and request to be emailed on updates and changes to the patrol rather than having to show up and listen to all the new stuff in person.
Saturday-Brunch with some pups. It was a good time at Sparkys and there were 7 of us who showed up. Spike, Sukk, John, Kenji (now known as pumpkin pie), myself, and 2 guys I had never met before. Jodie and Bernard both seemed really nice. Saturday night I decided to head to powerhouse. There I ran into Ace and his friend Matt. The more I get to know Matt the more I realize he really is a nice guy and that my first impression (ok, my second and perhaps third), was not accurate. I also ran into John, Daddy Richard, and spunky, which I can only say, we made ourselves a good time (insert naughty stuff here).
Sunday morning was a bit of hell. I woke up, went outside to smoke, and had a hot ash fly in my eye. My reflexes froze and I let it sit there until I could actually catch a thought as to what was happening. I spent about 5 hours in extreme pain until John was nice enough to bring me some eye wash and some eye drops. After laying down many times, I was feeling ok enough to head to beer bust. I always enjoy hanging out with John.
When we got to beer bust, I noticed a really cute guy and we kind of did the head nod from afar to show acknoledgement. Several times through out the 2 hours there, we nodded, and waved a few times, until he actually came over and started talking to me. We were both pretty drunk but I do remember thinking that he was definitely hot. He kept telling me how hot I was and I wasnt sure how to respond. We ended up making out for quite some time and finally exchanged phone numbers before leaving. I need to call him today.
On another note, I wanted to rip a movie and its been a while since I had done it. I realized that Popcorn no longer worked since I upgraded from Panther to Tiger. Finally I upgraded to Popcorn and downloaded Mac The Ripper. After playing around with the settings on both, I can finally rip movies again. YAY!!!!!

In(cyst) is the best
I sat there today, waiting for the end of the day to arrive. I forgot that most companies were closed today so my job of calling insurance companies was limited. I honestly felt useless and slacked most of the day. What else was there to do?
I also waited for the end of the day because I was prepared to have a needle shoved in my head to drain a cyst thats been there for abouot 6 years or so. I was a bit nervous but also in many way excited. Is it wrong to get turned on by having an 18 gage needle stuck in your head like some lab rat? Ive heard of cyborg fetishes before and although can understand it, I never thought myself as into that scene. Somehow though I admit, having the thought of being drilled into, was rather appealing.
So needless to say, the day ended and I still have my cyst. Apparently its too old and the tissue hardens. I was poked and proded for nothing. If anything, the turn on made it worth it.
So the doctor at the office I work at doesnt want to surgically remove it. Its not that she cant do it, but rather the fact she doesnt like leaving scars on peoples heads. She said to go through Kaiser (which is my insurance... yeah I know, I hate it too) and if they make me jump through too many hoops, she will do it for me. I think Id rather just have her do it anyway.
So this evening is relaxing and Heroes. Im hoping its a good episode. Last week it was kind of jumping in a new direction it seemed, as it did once before, leaving me wondering where they are going with the story line next and how it will all be connected down the road.

Pup Demo, Ikea, Ace, Throbbin, CJRough, and more
So to catch up on my weekend so far, Friday at work they announced that the measely 1 week vacation and 3 sick days they give us, would now become 8 sick days and no vacation to appease the law that went into effect on 2/5/07. I wasnt happy about it and decided to speak up. Good thing retaliation is against the law lol.
They figure since they already allow us to use sick time as vacation (PTO), and the law does say that if they offer comparable sick leave, then they dont have to give any additional days. Im not so much complaining that I didnt get additional sick time as I am the fact I feel as if I dont get vacation time now.
I also had told them that the benefits they have arent comparable to most places and for a doctors office, its kind of sad that there isnt more sick time. I mean, we see sick people all the time and are more apt to get sick than any other type of office. Ive had 2 colds in the 5 months Ive been there and I dont usually get sick all that often.
Im sure they werent happy with me speaking out but someone has to be the voice. I believe I did it in a tactful way by letting them know that I do understand above everything its a business, they are there to make (and save) money, and I can understand their decision from a business perspective which is also why I can understand the other side since I am on the other side. Needless to say, I also told them Ill probably be looking for another job.
Friday night was Alternations dance party at 525 Harrison. The K9 Unit here in SF was asked a few months ago to do a demo and there turned out to 3 Handlers and 4 pups participating. For those who know me, I always enjoy being on stage and being on display. John acted as my handler, and Daddy Richard MC'd. The other pups were sukk, taz, and spike. Duke acted as handler for taz and MasterDS of course would be sukks.
I dont remember a lot being in pup space but hear from others that I did great on stage. I remember bits and pieces and mostly remember hearing "champ" yelled out from the audience. I remember seeing flash bulbs from cameras going off too. Mostly I enjoyed playing tug-o-war, fetch, sukk eating cake from his bowl, and the dog bowl of beer at the end. I do remember John throwing a towel over my head which I deparately tried to get off but couldnt. Overall it was a great turn out.
Saturday John was nice enough to take me to Target and Ikea and Josh met us there. I bought a microwave, sofa, rug, small bakers rack, coffee table, and dresser to replace the stuff Steve took while he's moving out.
Last night I then met up with Mark, and Clayfor dinner. John also joined us. Clay is in town visiting from Calgary so Mark had taken him all over the city during the day site seeing. We went to China town for dinner and ate at the Empress of China. It was my first time eating there and have to say, I can see why it really is a nice place to eat. The wait staff was great, the food was great, and the view of the city from the 6th floor was amazing. I wasnt expecting to spend $40 on dinner (I was mostly thinking we were going for "something to eat"), but definitely happy with the outcome. I really enjoyed hanging out with Mark, John, and getting to know Clay
So today... On to beer bust later. YAY!

This Mornings Going Great
Dear Blog,
Its going to be a great day. I can just feel it.
This morning has been great. I started out online chatting in the gay.com Rochester room and ‘most’ of my favorite people were on there. They are having snow which doesn’t make me happy (it doesn’t make me sad either) so everyone was online.
I tried my wireless again by pulling out the eithernet cable and the connection was still there. Weird but I wont look a gift horse in the mouth.
After talking to our landlord last night it seems very promising that the roommate situation will become final today. She just wants to check with the apartment association to find out about the lease options. She may want us to sign a new lease however both Josh and I agree that we really don’t want to do that. From the research I did, I don’t think she can but we will see what happens. Either way it should be good.
So Im on my way to work, enjoying my great morning and MUNI is taking its sweet time between Powell and Montgomery. I usually get off at Montgomery but not this morning. Muni pulls into the entrance of Montgomery Station, stops as if it still needs to pull up more, and then starts to take off until the brakes slam and its too late. The train was already past the stop.
Many mornings this would bother me but not this morning. This is my good morning.
A man screams out “Everyone should call MUNI and complain”. I chuckled in my head thinking “this is public transportation, these things happen”.
Usually I keep these things in my head but when we were getting off at Embarcadero, the same man started yelling MUNIs phone number. I couldn’t resist.
Politely I say with a smile “Its public transportation, these things happen”. He disagreed “Well they shouldn’t!”. I followed it up with “If only everything was perfect”.
I don’t think he liked me much or liked the fact I was taking on his misery with being nice and a smile. He yelled as we walked away “Have a good day asshole”. I just smiled and called him “cranky”.
He will continue to have a bad day Im sure (his choice), as I will continue this wonderful morning and truly have a great day.
And man, its only 9:30am. J

A Balanced Day
"Excuse me" can be polite yet it can also be rude in many ways. It amazes me how the english language can have so many flaws depending on translation.
A woman older woman, perhaps homeless, walks across the street and to get passed me, says "excuse me". I realized that I was standing in the slope that would allow her to easily roll the cart up to the sidewalk without having to pull it over the curb. The question is, I'm not sure how she meant it.
On another note, I'm in line waiting to pay for my pizza, and the girl in front of me is on her cell phone while paying for her food. She is having a conversation, not paying attention to anyone else, and while distracted by the call, she is tring to put her stuff away. This was obviously rude so I said something. She didn't acknowledge anything because her conversation was far more important than listening or paying for her purchase.
So I got home from work tonight to find two packages at the door. The first was my knee pads which were estimated to arrive on Thursday. I was worried they wouldnt be here in time for the Friday night pup demo and was very happy to see them here.
The other was the Asus WL-167g WiFi adapter for my mac mini. For those of you who dont know the story, when I bought the mini, you had an option for bluetooth and an option for WiFi and each was a separate option. I was living at my old apartment on Market and the cable modem was in my bedroom so I figured who needs the WiFi.
Needless to say, we moved, we have an extra long eithernet cord going from upstairs to downstairs where my computer is and when I consulted Apple about having WiFi put in, I was told that since they no longer have a separate option for WiFi, I would have to buy the Bluetooth with the WiFi at the full price. Thats just outrageous.
So Ive searched for dongles before to take care of this and havent found anything that would work until last week Josh mentioned he was using a USB dongle for his mac (he's had trouble for a long time with his airport). I got the model number and ordered it over the weekend. I just got the email this morning that it was shipped. WOW! Talk about fast service and it was by far the lowest price I found online (including free shipping).
So this made my evening. Now if I can only figure out how to get the wireless to work with the dongle. I had to download the installer from Asus website and that installed fine. I just think its the settings on my mini that need to be changed. Ill eventually figure it out and life will be great.
YAY for me!

Well this weekend turned out to be a good one. So much is happening in my life right now, I dont know whether Im coming or going. Ive been making plans on top of plans and forgetting whats going on. One good thing though, thanks to throbbin, I now can sync my treo 650 with my ical. That will be soooo helpful (providing I remember to sync it regularly).
So Friday night pup patrol was cancelled so I went out instead (go figure). It was cancelled due to rain which turned out that it was wet but would have been managable. So I stayed close to Castro (Edge & 440). Saturday morning throbbin took me to Target where I bought some well needed stuff. DVD Player, Bathroom Towels, Socks, and a nice new coffee grinder among other tedius items. The DVD player we have doesnt have the remote and for some reason you cant navigate a DVD except to play. Well I was craving Buffy and could only watch the first episode. Now that Ive replaced it, I was able to get my Buffy fix Saturday evening.
So after Target, I met Josh and we met up with my friend Craig who was in town from Atlanta. I got to meet his new boyfriend and we had lunch at Welcome Home. It was nice to catch up although we chat often on instant messager.
Unfortunately Josh and I had to run quickly afterwards. We had 3 people set up for Saturday afternoon, to meet as potential roommates. I think we made a decision on someone and will be having them go through the application process and meeting the landlord. Hopefully if things go through, we will be able to put this behind us and life will be back to normal.
I went out Saturday night and again stayed close to Castro (Edge and 440 again).
Sunday we had 2 people lined up for interviews and Steve showed up with the U-Haul to take the furniture. I was hoping he would have mentioned when but so is the life of a non communicative person. This Saturday Ill be heading to Ikea to replace a lot of stuff in the house. Its funny but its a great feeling to know that I own the furniture once again, since I gave up everything I owned in Rochester moving out here. Its also nice to know that I dont have to rely on anyone except roommates paying their share of the rent (not too much worry there). After nearly 3 years of using Steves stuff and furniture, it was almost to the point where it was a given. He owned the stuff here and it was more of living *with* him rather than sharing an apartment. Hopefully now things will be more open and we can all share the living space. Its like escaping back to a happier existance in living.
I stopped by throbbin to get an update on the meeting I missed. The pup demo is Friday night (stupid me made plans on top of plans again and forgot about this when I agreed to make my friend
We headed to church aka beer bust at the Eagle, and proceeded to enjoy the rest of the day. Spike was in a straight jacket and it was quite fun for me helping on the other end of it.
All in al it was a good weekend.

I Get A Night Off
Last night didn't have any unwind time. I got done work, ran home to change, and
was out the door to meet throbbin, and his boy leathertigger. We
went to the leathermens discussion group, which I wanted to get a feel for how the
discussion was set up. I also knew several of my favorite people would be there.
I got to see sukk, pigpupsf, Daddy Richard, and spunky which Daddy
Richard lead the discussion on scat play. Although I'm not necessarily into that
scene, it was enjoyable to listen to.
After the discussion, we all headed home. Sleep for me.
I'm looking forward to having a night off tonight and relaxing at home finally.
I've been craving Buffy so perhaps that will make my night. Anyone wanna come over?
Woof

Wow, things have been busy for me this week. Elizabeth has been out since Monday and work has been jumping. The weekend was good. We started the interview process and meeting potential roommates. Sunday we met with 4 and last night met with 2. Its really been difficult since Josh and I are so different in personalities and the "type" of person we would both want and Im getting a bit discouraged that we wont find *that* person until we've already screwed ourselves for March 1st.
Apparently he seems to think we dont need to put a deadline on making a choice but unfortunately I know we do. February is a short month and we have 3 weeks to find someone, which gives us a week roughly. If we wait any longer than that, the one person we may decide on could have found someplace and then we would be either a) forced to live with someone we didnt really want, or b) forced to split March's rent which Im not ready to do.
It also seems like the people I connect with, may both Josh and perhaps jealousy may be the reason that he doesnt want them there. I hadnt really thought of that possibility but it could be. I connected with one guy last night, who really seemed to want to live with us, but for some odd reason, Josh had trouble with him. Apparently he wants someone who will be more of our tenant than our roommate.
So on to other living situations. We still need a couch, end tables, and a dresser so if anyone knows anyone getting rid of them cheap, let me know.
Last night I went to dinner with Daddy Tony who invited several kink pigs for a dinner discussion for the Stop AIDS project. There we talked about the S&M community, leather scenes, kink, and how to get the message out where in recent times it seems to be failing. We actually came up with some good stuff and had a really great conversation.
Tonight Im heading out with throbbin and his boy leathertigger who is in town briefly from Ottawa. Im pretty anxious to meet his boy although Im pretty well beat from being on the go the past 3 days. Im also looking forward to going to the Leathermens Discussion Group, if only to get an idea of how the discussions are organized in hopes of organizing one myself one day.
This weekend should be busy as well. Friday is pup patrol (Castro Community On Patrol being patrolled by chainedpup, throbbin, and me. Saturday my friend Craig is in town from Atlanta on business and I will be having lunch and meeting his new boyfriend. In between there will be more roommates to talk to and hopefully come to a decision (have you guessed I really want this over with?)
Two final things. I started planning my trip back home. I leave for Rochester May 18th and stay till the 23rd. Ill leave out of Buffalo on the 23rd and head to Chicago until the 28th. Now Im waiting for Southwest to extend their booking times to May 28th before I purchase that one way ticket from Chicago to San Francisco.
I also had a job interview today which Im hoping pans out. Ill know by the end of the week if I will have a second interview or not. Keep your fingers crossed because it sounds like a great opportunity.
So thats current, to date, and all thats going on.

11's again
1/31/07 (3+1+0+7) Josh and I came to a resolution on the apartment.
Today is 2+2+0+7, and I just got a job interview.
I know I may be stretching with all this but there seems to be some truth to it all. My interview will be on 2/7/07 (cant make much of that though) but perhaps 2/9/07 will be a good day hehe...

anxious
So Im at work yesterday, arguing with an insurance company (as usual) and talking about a patient who was seen for anxiety. I was looking at the info and realized they also had hemorrhoids. I giggled and Elizabeth asked why.
After I told her, she says "well no wonder theyre anxious. When their hemorrhoids go away they are no longer anxious.". This made me giggle even more.
