Shopping
So I turned in my resignation and really took a close look at the people around me. There really are a lot of people I'm going to miss there. It will be nice to be away from the call center experience but it really is a great bunch of people there.
With my resignation, I received a lot of sad coworkers and really realized just how much I'm going to be missed. Mike expressed his sorrow and everyone that I thought wouldn't care seem to care more than I imagined. I'm going to miss most people.
As you probably know, there has been benefits to working there. They have given many bonuses to buy clothes, shoes, dinner, etc... For my last week, and because the company had a successful week in meeting goals, I get to go out and spend up to $60 towards a new shirt. What make the irony is that I needed a new shirt for my new and upcoming job. Also as an added benefit, the new quarter starts Monday which means Ill get my free quarterly headset. A nice benefit before leaving.
So today I'm going shopping in the new Wesfield Shopping Center. The new mall opened Thursday and SF now has a Bloomingdales. Its nice inside but there is a almost unbearable amount of people. I see people going in but barely anyone coming out.
On a more social note, last night I went to a straight bar in the Tenderloin. For those who know me, straight bars scare me and to make it worse the Tenderloin scares me too. Double Whammy was my first thought, but when I got there I was greeted by people I knew, one of the friendliest and excellent bartenders I've met yet, and a scene that resembled the old Tara's. Coincidently enough it was called The Nitecap which in the older Tara days people would start there and end there.
Lisa, the bartender, made me one of the best alabama slammers I've had in years. She didn't just take care of her patrons in a drinking sense but encouraged people to drink water in between. She was very caring, fun, and a great bartender to be around.
So the reason I was there was that it was my friend Stephens birthday. I'm not sure how old he is but I can say he is hot. Everyone seemed to have a "gay" ole time and it was great to be somewhere new. Thanks Stephen for expanding my horizons and making what I thought would be a dump, a great time. Happy Birthday.
Ok enough blogging. Time to shop!

So Many Men/So Many Unmentionable Moments
So where to begin and how to make this as short as possible?
I got Thursday off and as it turned out I had an interview that morning with Chiro Medical Group. They were looking for an experienced biller and we had only spoken 2 days before on the phone. Perfect timing.
I had the interview at 11:00 and Jarrod was coming in around noon. Josh agreed to pick him up at the airport and I was hoping to go with him. As it turned out, the interview lasted a mere 20 minutes and I was able to catch Josh as he was leaving.
We picked up Jarrod after several times around the airport runway and stopped at Rainbow so Josh could get a few things. When we got back to the apartment. Josh, Jarrod and I went to Pasta Palmadoro in Castro for a quick bite to eat. Jarrod and I napped a bit and Lonnie called when he got into town from Chicago.
We decided the Powerhouse was a good place to go. It was about normal for a Thursday night crowd, although busy, still not quite the out of town Folsom crowd which would be there the following night and weekend.
We all had some drinks and I was able to introduce Jarrod and Lonnie to some of my friends. I think this was the only night I actually saw most of them in one place. The 3 of us came back to my place and crashed on my full size futon. I dont think any of us even noticed how crowded it was. We all just died.
Friday we went to Mr S and Stompers to find Jarrod some boots which we werent able to find all weekend. Jason bought a new leather vest for Folsom and I have to admit it looks great on him. Later in the evening we went to Golden Gate Park and walked around. Most places there were closed but it was nice to just walk around, take photos, and spend some time with both Lonnie and Jarrod.
That night we ended up at the Powerhouse again and met up with my friend Aaron and his friend from CT. Rick had joined us as well. It was packed! Wall to wall men in leather, rubber, and uniforms. Hot as they were, it was too hot in there for us, so we left over to the Eagle along with a few other friends I met up with.
The Eagle was fun. We all got drunk again, and somehow ended up doing a lot of "first times" for me. We all ended up back at my place again, and the 3 of us crashed on my futon together and Rick crashed on the living room floor upstairs.
Saturday was the Love Fest. Jarrod and Lonnie decided to pass, and Rick and I went down together and met up with Corey. After watching the parade, and towards the end, I noticed a bunny outfit. My first thought was "look a furry" but then my head took over and I remembered Josh's voice in my head saying "you should see my outfit for love fest". Sure enough it was Josh decked out from head to toe in his bunny suit. It was cute.
While Lonnie, Jarrod, and Jason shopped, Rick, Corey, and I came back to my place for a nap. More unmentionable firsts happened that afternoon and soon after we were joined by Lonnie and Jarrod.
We decided to stay in that night and rest up for Folsom on Sunday. Year after year, we drink the night before and somehow stumble to the fair with hang overs and hurting. We were determined to be of sound mind for the fair and enjoy the day with our bodies and minds in the best of health. This didnt happen.
We ended up drinking at home, watched Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban along with The Incredibles. We drank a lot and although we werent as bad as we could have been, we were still a bit tired for the fair.
Jarrod, Rick, and I left to get lunch at Orphan Andys and soon after my friend Ian joined us to head over to Lonnies hotel. With all of that, we ended up at the fair around 1pm.
Insert Folsom Street Fair Normalities Here
- we walked around, gawked, Rick got spanked by Jarrod, I got an official Folsom Street Fair jock strap by putting it on there in front of everyone, we ran into friends, gawked some more, ran into more friends, and then around 4:30 headed over to the Eagle.
The Eagle was packed and a lot of fun. The drinks were being made extra strong and for some reason I ended up getting the big cups full of vodka while the others got the small ones. I think they like me there which is great because I love my bartenders at the Eagle.
After drinking heavily, and somehow missing the evening, we realized it was suddenly dark outside. We headed over to the Lone Star and during that day more unmentionable firsts happened. Finally Lonnie and Jarrod went to spend the night at Lonnies hotel and Rick and I came home. Rick went back to San Jose, and I slept like a baby.
Monday was Lonnies last day. We decided on brunch and then we were heading to Coit Tower. Erik (Aarons friend from CT) joined us as well. Im not certain but I think most people expect Coit Tower to be more amazing than what it really is. Basically its a great view of the city from 360 degrees and if you want great pictures and a nice view then you should go. Its $3.75 to go up in the tower, and look out however that is all there is to do up there. We spent maybe 10 minutes max and then left.
With about an hour before Lonnie and Rich had to go to catch their flight, we stopped at Mr S to kill some time. Rich (Lonnies roommate in Chicago) bought a paddle and soon we were saying goodbye at Muni. It was sad saying goodbye and I knew Id be doing it again on Tuesday morning when Jarrod left.
Evening came, Jarrod and I relaxed, went to Samovar for tea, and basically prepared for his shuttle to the airport in the morning.
Jarrod left this morning and I was back to work. I received a phone call Monday morning informing me that I had gotten the job, so I was off to put in my 2 week notice. My last day with Headsets.com will be on October 6th and I start my new job with Chiro Medical Group on the 8th. The new job sounds like it has potential to lead to more places. It seems like its exactly where my skill are and I will be back in a health care environment again. Im excited to start.
A great weekend was had by all and I cant wait to do it again. So much for short and simple.

Pirates Invade Powerhouse
Friday night I helped with an event at Powerhouse called Jolly Ho. It was a pirate themed event that seemed to work.
I had no idea what I was going to do about a costume but somehow managed to put something together. Apparently I looked good because I got lots of compliments and lots of attention.
It may have been the outfit, it may have been the leather vest with my chest exposed, or perhaps because I was having fun selling jello shots and applying temporary tattoos on hot men in various places of their bodies.
I'd also like to mention the company I kept that night. Ross and Jose were great to help out with. Lots of positive energy and they really seemed to enjoy putting on the event.
Sunday was the beginning of leather week. The pride flag taken down and the leather flag was raised above Castro. I had brunch with my friend Phil and a friend of his who were in town for the night. I missed the raising of the leather flag but enjoyed seeing Phil again.
After brunch Phil and his friend left back to southern CA and I was able to catch the beginning of the leather walk. Small parade going down Market and ending at the Eagle (which is where I would be heading in a few hours for beer bust).
Beer bust was a good time. Lots of friends and all of us were doing lots of naughty stuff. Lots of great pictures too but some will remain un posted. For those who want to see, email me and Ill send you a link.
As for today, its Wednesday. Jarrod and Lonnie arrive in town tomorrow and Ill be off till Tuesday. Folsom is this weekend and it promises to be busy but a great time to look forward to.

Picture it! San Francisco! 2006
So to tell my story, I need to start back at the beginning. I set up a profile on a website several months ago and about a month and a half ago I got a message from a guy I was interested in. He was in the process of moving and was going to have company in town so August wasn’t a good time to meet. September rolled around and its started off busy for me but we still emailed each other on occasion.
Finally, Im on my way to beer bust, and while underground I got a voicemail message. I listened to the message and by the sound of the voice, I recognized it as the guy Ive been trying to meet. I called him back instantly and we chatted for a bit. We agreed to meet on Thursday at the Pilsner for a couple of drinks.
Thursday gets here, I go to the bar, and wait for him to arrive. In walks a guy who looks familiar so I wave him over and we sit down and start talking. I am thinking to myself “This guy is much hotter than I expected and a really nice guy to boot”. I was excited and enjoyed talking to him. We talk about interests that we both share and chatted for about 20 minutes. When we started talking about work, I mentioned that I work in the area he moved to. I was a bit surprised when he said he has lived in the same place for about 5 years.
I mentioned how good it was to meet him after about a month and a half of trying to which he responded “I only messaged you about a week ago”. Now Im feeling a bit strange. This is not the same person I originally thought it was but I was really enjoying the time. I felt a bit silly, I mean honestly, how can someone talk to someone on the phone, set up a meeting time, and then talk for about 20 minutes without realizing it’s a different person than you expected.
So moving along, the guy was extremely good looking, nice, compassionate, and seemed like he would be someone worth getting to know. He just came out of a relationship and hasn’t really been getting out there to meet people. As a firm believer in fate and as silly as it may sound, I really feel like I should help him along and invite him out to some of the events and things that I go to. I feel as if I should be making friends and introducing him to people I know. I also would love to get to know him better myself. Did I mention he was hot.
So that concludes this part of the story. We will see what happens. We may try and get together next week but as busy as Ive been and him having company this weekend, it looks like we wont get together again till next Monday or Wednesday

Friends friends and more good friends
So the past week has been non stop for me. Jason had moved here, I had the contest Saturday, Sunday was Harrison Street Fair, Monday my good friend Stomper from Portland was in town, and last night my good friend Chris and his partner Doug from Rochester arrived.
It was really great seeing both of them and great to have Jason arrive here, I havent seen Stomper since my trip to IML. We had a dinner at Firewood and went to Powerhouse for a few drinks. It was nice meeting his partner who Ive only heard of till now.
I also met a really hot friend of theirs who apparently has a partner and moved out of the city recently. I learned about new fetishes and kinks one of which I think I may need to research a bit more. There are many people who fantasize about being turned into cyborgs. I never heard of it but it does kind of interest me.
Last night I went to dinner with Chris & Doug at Nirvana. I just realized I hadnt been there in a really long time. Ever since the host was rude and we decided to go somewhere else. The service seemed to be back to what I remember and the food still as good as before.
After Nirvana we headed to Daddys. I still cant call it by its "not so new" name 440 Castro. It was busy which was a bit unusual to find on a Wednesday night. It was great catching up with Chris and Doug about everything going on in Rochester, and it kind of made me want to visit more soon. Im just afraid of going in the winter when its cold. blah!
Also on the news front, Ive commited myself to sending in at least 1 resume a day in hopes of finding a new job that will have a little more advancement both in position and salary. I know I can find something and finally figured why not try. So we will see how that goes.
My GIR slippers arrived in the mail yesterday. YAY!!!! Who wouldnt want to have a giant GIR wrapped around their feet? They are fantastic! Thank you Luis for buying them for me. You are a sweet and great friend.

Straight People in Castro
So the more and more straight people I see in Castro, the more and more I want them to leave. I understand they want a nice neighborhood to live in but let's look at reality. There is a reason a gay neighborhood is safer and nicer.
I got on Muni tonight and took a look around. I saw some shady people and some drunk people. I saw some decent, regular joes too. The people I saw who would make me a bit afraid were the younger, straight, drunk folks. I'm not saying some gay men aren't scary since I do know several in the leather community who are but I still have a certain safety I feel even when I see a stranger in leather I haven't met.
The drunk straight girls in Castro need to leave. The gay boys need to realize although they can drink, have fun, entertain, and in most cases hold their liquor, their straight, female, counter parts cannot.
Sure they love their gay friends, they are after all fag hags but have some tact girls. Drink moderately, get your energy from within rather than relying on the energy from the booze and your gay friend and please don't bring any straight boy along whom you've had to ensure several times that night "it will be fun". They won't fit in with the gay men so leave them at home and don't force them. It only leads to violence.
With all of this and a quest to have a peaceful place to live myself, I would love to see the straights have their own nice area to live that's affordable. Based on the info its hard to create a haven for straights unless you can pay the price. If you can there is always Pacific Heights.
On a completelye different note, I was walking down Castro and I walked by a cute guy who I heard say "ooooh Daddy". When did I become a Daddy? wow that made me feel old.

SF Leather Daddys boy contest
Last night was the SF Leather Daddys boy contest. I entered.
Although I didnt win, I must say it was a great experience for me. I knew from the start that there were more deserving boys up there than me, and I had the mind set that any one of them would be fantastic in the role. This made it easier to go through the motions and be ok with the results. I also pondered the idea of commitment and wasnt sure if I wanted that kind of commitment just yet.
It also put me out there, on stage (half naked I might add), to be seen by the leather community as a serious boy who wants to be involved and wants to help where and when I can. I still plan on doing those same things. I met some great people along the way, and had a fantastic time doing it.
Im really glad spunky encouraged me to run. Thank you spunky, I appreciate everything.
On a fantastic note, I received lots of compliments on how I did and found out I raised the most in the sale of raffle tickets which is what the benefit is about. Its the sale of raffle tickets that go to the AIDS Emergency fund and its nice to know I helped in that respect too. With that, my thanks to my good friend Rob, who held my bucket, collected the money, and followed me around while I got on my knees over and over again measuring inseems.
My thanks to all of my friends who were there to support me. Rick, Kenji, Rob K, Matt, Jason, Luis, and many others. I was glad you were there. You really helped make my night what it was.
After the contest we went to Powerhouse and I came up with this analogy of friendship (of course I was drunk at the time and throwing ice cubes at Rob and Jason). Friends are like ice cubes and the scotch only as good as the trick who you meet one night. The scotch will go but when it does, friendships will still be left over.
Ok so there are some flaws but what I am getting at, is knowing I have a lot of ice cubes in my life. Thanks guys. You're all the best.
