So Ive been playing more and more with the macro feature on my camera. The new background is a photo I took in Mill Valley. I would love to hear some feed back on how it works against the text.
Also if you are interested, there are some pictures from my sisters day 1 and day 2 for your viewing pleasure.

The World Does Revolve Around Me
Have you ever looked into the eyes of a stranger? The faces, the expressions? Have you ever wondered what they are thinking at those times that seem so mundane such as waiting for the train at 6am?
Everyone is thinking something different. Perhaps about you? Most likely something unrelated to anything you could be thinking.
Truth is, we dont always realize that people are living their own lives. The world is revolving around them and in their mind it should be.
This thought came upon me this morning as I was walking to work. There is a woman standing on the street with about 10 small pieces of luggage. Next to her is an older man, perhaps her father. They are trying to supervise the guy who drives the shuttle, telling him how to put the luggage in.
Another woman stands in the doorway, obviously looking to stand out of sight yet stay involved. She is also supervising.
These people have np idea that Im walking. They are going about their lives as if I dont exist at all. In their world I dont and when my walk is interupted by a sudden turn by the older man, my interuption becomes his. Its all about him.
This got me thinking while waiting for the train. Everyone waiting, watching the new people walk down the stairs, judging how they look, how they dress, and who they are.
Some are wondering when the next train will arrive, or will they get to work on time. Some are thinking about family and friends. Their family and friends. Things that have nothing to do with us.
The world is their oyster and I am just a grain of sand. I wave to an oyster I know as I walk into work.

Visitor (my sister) Day 2: China Town/Union Square
So I had to work yesterday until 3pm. I got out of work on time and met Michele and Josh at Josh's space as he was giving her a massage from 2:30-3:30. The look on my sisters face and the glow, was enough to tell me how much she enjoyed it. She couldnt stop boasting about her San Francisco massage by Josh.
So we hopped the F Car with a ton of things to do, and headed downtown. We first stopped at the farmers market at Civic Center which was kind of nice. It was late in the day now so everyone was packing up to go home. We did manage to buy a pair of sunglasses each which I must say makes me look cool. :)
Onward for food. We stopped by a chinese restaurant on Powell St and got some fast food Chinese. Delicious, hit the spot, and completely brought back some energy. We then went to Union Square and saw a ton of great artwork. She got to see Macy's, Saks, Tiffanys, Armani's, and the Disney Store. Ok which one of these things doesnt belong here?
After a brief stay at Ross, and Old Navy, it was off to China Town. My sister was delighted. I dont think she knew what to expect in China Town but she definitely loved the bargains. T-Shirts 3 for $10.99, and massage balls for $1.99. Granted they arent really the best quality but still the same, they look good and didnt cost a whole lot of money.
By this time everyone was exhausted so we headed home. Full day and now on to another. Tonight you ask? Golden Gate Park & the Japanese Tea Garden.

Dont Haight
My sister arrived last night around 11:05pm. Exhausted from traveling, we didnt stay up long.
Day 1 was slow. We started my sisters first day here with fog so bad, you could even see the tower on Twin Peaks.
We got up early and was heading to Mill Valley with Josh who had an interview, so that my sister could see the Golden Gate Bridge. The fog was not kind because you could not even make out that there was a bridge there.
So after walking around Mill Valley for about 2 hours, we finally were headed back to the city. On our way to the zoo, we got a bit hungry so we wanted to stop for lunch. We stopped in Haight since it was on the way, and ate at a greek restaurant which was delicious, however now it was nearly 3:30 and not nearly enough time for the zoo. We decided to cut the zoo out of the trip and just walk down haight street.
Finally leaving haight around 6 O'clock, we went to safeway, bought lots of junk food, and came home. We relaxed for a while and just before bed time Josh went out to get a free fish tank that he found on craigslist. Within about 10 minutes, he called me.
His muffler, which had been giving him problems, was now dragging on the ground. There really wasnt a lot that I could do, so I tried the best I could to wait up for him. He finally called and was having his car towed here. Hopefully he can get it fixed soon enough.
Sleep............

Lets talk about sex baby
First Id like to take a moment and cover yesterday morning. To set the scene, it 5:45am and the sun hasnt fully risen. I leave the apartment for work, with sleep in my eyes and a dim view of what the world looks like.
I walk about 50 feet to the 116 steps I must go down to get to the street below. Im on my way to the subway to catch the train.
As Im heading down *the* steps, I see the silhouette of two homeless people. Im used to seeing homeless people after all it is San Francisco.
What I hadnt expected to see, and was quite shocked to find was the two people I would have to pass were engaged in an adult act called sex.
I guess I never thought about it before but homeless people have needs too and neither would have a place to get it on, so low and behold they were fucking in public on the steps I must go down to get to work.
With that said a much cleaner experience. Spare the air is something San Francisco does to encourage people to take public transportation as opposed to driving. Between certain hours of the morning you can ride the train (and apparently the bus) for free.
Now I can understand the train but uncertain of the bus. The bus runs on gas as well as electricty correct? With that said it really isnt sparing much of the air now is it?
Finally my sister arrives tonight. Im so excited. I cant wait.

Everything is beautiful......
Ok, so Ive been slacking in the journal department once again. Seems like I cant find the time to write, however things are slowing down a bit and this weekend was just what the doctor ordered.
After several months of chaos with job hunting, apartment hunting, starting my new job, and moving, things are finally at the end of the transition period. This weekend there were several things around the apartment that I wanted to get done but I just didnt see a need to do them. There was no priority there and no necessity which was kind of nice. Josh and I were able to have a great weekend together without any stress on what needed to get done.
Steve is in Disney Land (lucky dog) celebrating his 40th birthday which was the other day. Although he is missed, it was kind of nice to have the place to ourselves. I cooked on Friday night and Saturday night and it was nice to be able to sit outside on the deck and enjoy the view, while being secluded on top of the hill.
I also started in the planning process of dinners so Josh doesnt have to do it all the time. He's been doing the planning and the cooking for the past few months and has made note that he has grown tired of it. I figured Id give him a break and take on some of that responsibility since he's now been getting more interviews, working at the space with clients, and taking a few odd jobs to help make some cash.
So the weekend was fun. I got an email from my friend Nadine who I have to admit, educated me about milking. Milking apparently is used in forced chastity and being brought to climax so that the penis ejects the semen, without an orgasm. Who knew? Im thinking I should have known being a male. It was quite interesting to hear that she learned what a bear however related bears to furrys. I corrected her on that.
Speaking of bears, it was also lazy bear weekend in Guernville this past weekend. We didnt go but it would have been nice. I know several people who did and Im sure it was a good time. One year we will make it up there.
So Friday night I went out and had fun. Saturday we went to Marin to go visit Josh's friends. It was a bit odd being there again since the last time I was there was before his friends Josh C and Bruce broke up. Now we are going there to visit Josh C who is house sitting for his ex, and his new boyfriend is staying there as well.
Dinner was nice, however I grew tired quickly so we left around 10:30pm. Home to bed and ending the day.
Sunday we had pancakes again (I also made pancakes Saturday morning). Whole wheat pancakes (I think) and they were delicious. Im finally finding whole foods that I enjoy so hopefully in the future it wont be as much of an issue between what we eat. I also did the planning for dinners for 4 nights and Josh and I went shopping at Rainbow. We actually had a good time shopping together and I think it has to do with the fact, I knew what we were getting because I made the menu. I usually feel left out, blind, and just wanting to get it over with asap.
Sunday was also beer bust. After going over to water plants at my friend Jays apartment (he is out of town), I headed off to beer bust at the Eagle. There I met some great guys (all who have bf's), watched one of them get a blow job while we talked, and saw a bunch of people there dressed as clowns. Ive heard about clown sex before but it was defintely a first for me to see it. Ok so there wasnt really any sex there but there was clowns making out with each other and to see that alone I thought "this may just be the closest thing Ill see to clown sex".
So thats about all with the exception of Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince arriving at my door on Saturday. Ive only read the first three chapters but already Im really into it. Seems like there is going to be a lot of action in this one. Darker than the previous ones, and hopefully more on the edge since they are now getting older.
Oh yeah, finally found a bluetooth headset that I absolutely love and works well with my treo 650. Hooray!!!!!
My best to all

Update on the apartment
So we are slowly getting the new apartment together and noticing some problems already. There are a ton of great things about being in the new place but like any new place you begin to discover certain things.
For instance, the shower. Now for me its not too big of a deal but the shower heads are hung a bit lower than normal. To rinse off, you kind of have to crouch down a little. A bit annoying but tolorable. Josh also noticed that the hot water runs out while he is in the shower. Im not sure why because Steve and I have showered at the same time and still had hot water. We think perhaps because he is using the one shower that I use and he takes a while, that perhaps the hot water is coming out a lot faster than the other shower, so he will try using the 2nd bathroom. We'll see what happens.
Another problem are the telephone, which the line was bad. People would call in, it would ring once, and then nothing. They would hear static on the other end and when we picked up, they were still there. There was no voice mail or anything. SBC came out and fixed it yesterday so thats no longer a problem.
Finally (before listing some assets) the thermostat doesnt work. We can turn it on and off along with the fan, but we cant regulate the temperature. The downstairs seems to get very hot in the bedrooms while the rest of the place stays barely comfortable. I have called the landlord once on this and we should hopefully be getting this fixed soon as well.
So the best parts of the new apartment.....
SPACE!!!!! Can I say it again? Space, and lots of it.
Its amazing how much room there is here. Having two floors is amazing. We arent bumping into each other at every point in the house and hell, sometimes we are lucky if we realize we're in the same room as one another.
The view is amazing. It was nice to sit outside on the upper deck with my coffee and laptop, and be surrounded by open air. Its nice to fall asleep downstairs facing the sliding glass doors and just look out over the city and stars (when the fog isnt around).
Its nice to have a huge foyer area downstairs which we are using as an office (the office is as big as both the bedrooms combined). Its fantastic to have our computers in a seperate room so that we dont have to worry about disturbing each other while we sleep.
Steve of course is happy having a huge bedroom (the size of our office space), he can fit everything he has in there and still have room to move.
Finally, the washer and dryer are fantastic to have as an asset. Its nice to be able to throw a load in the washer and still go about your business around the house. Im sure everyone knows how nice that is.
Well enough about the new place. We still have to finish unpacking and getting settled but its going by slowly. We have to clean the old place this Saturday and then we will be done. Steve goes away a week from Friday and my sister will be here in less than 3 weeks. Did I mention how excited I am that she's coming to visit?
Work is going great. I finally got a full paycheck this week and it turned out to be about $40 less a week than my old job. Weird how the more you make, the more taxes they take out. $40 doesnt seem like much when you compare it to about $6 an hour less or 9k less a year. Im feeling pretty good about it all now and they actually do stuff together.
This Sunday will be a six flags picnic and they scheduled a murder mystery for the beginning of September. Apparently one of the biggest hotel owners in SF will be there joining us as well. I hate to say it (ok Im happy to say it), I underestimated this job because of the pay. Its turning out to be a smart move on my part.
Well thats the update. Hope everyone is well and hope to keep in touch more now that things are finally going a bit better. Till next time......

Moving Day 1
So last night was fun. I went out to the Pilsner and ran into some people I knew. I was feeling like I needed a bit of alone time, so I went out by myself. I ended up running into a few people I knew and had a great time.
Got home about 12:30 and ready to get up early to start moving. This morning started slower than I had hoped. I was always used to moving day meaning we got up early and busted our ass all day. This wasnt the way it worked today.
I got up early and waited for Josh and Steve to wake up. They showered, and we went for breakfast around 11am. We went to Bagdad Cafe which I always enjoy and finally after a few errands, made it back to the Market St apartment around 1. By the time we brought the first load of stuff over, it was around 2 and by the time we decided we were done for the day, it was around 6.
We moved most of the stuff to the Saturn St apartment but there is still a ton of stuff left to move. We will take care of that stuff tomorrow before beer bust and hopefully have Monday off to recover and organize everything.
I got a call from Jason today. Finally after a week and a half of phone tag (well me persistantly calling him), he called to tell me what I already expected. He isnt going to come to visit Tuesday as originally planned. Sucks that I went through all the trouble of figuring out the schedule, paying for the ticket, only to have him cancel at the last minute.
He's paying me back for the ticket however its still a bit depressing. In some ways its good though because even though I would have loved his company, the timing wasnt all there. I took off 2 days of work and with the 4th of July, it would have been 3 days without pay. Now at least Ill get to work 2 of the 3 days and it wont be so bad.
Along with that, it gives me a bit more of a chance to get the apartment together for when my sister comes at the end of the month. Hopefully she wont cancel lol....
So thats about it. In the new apartment and really enjoying it. Enjoying the space, enjoying the view, enjoying the washer and dryer (which Josh is enjoying as well). It really feels like a fresh start.
