Pride Weekend

To start, the pink party was fantastic. Josh and St3ve went to a party which I decided at the last minute not to go to. Apparently I didnt really miss a whole lot but I was expecting people I know to be at the pink party right at 7 and the party they were going to was from 4-10pm.

As it turned out, no one I knew was getting there till after 8 so I headed out about 7:30ish. The place was mobbed with people. Swarming the gates, donating their $3, and socializing all down Castro, Market, and 18th Streets. I called ran into my friend Ken who was heading to a party at the Eagle but promised to be back later. His hair dyed a bright pink for the festivities and pride weekend.

After seeing him off on Muni, my friend Rick called to say he was on his way. After finally finding him, Josh & St3ve called (text messaged rather) saying they were on their way too. The party was a bit boring so they left early. The original people I wanted to meet up with (Jay, Joe, Mike, and Bill) werent around till later and after a game of phone tag, it was impossible to meet up with them. Fighting the crowd and finding a haven to meet was just not with us that day.

So Josh, Ste3ve and I hung out for a bit and ran into Eric who was at the Edge. He brought along his new found friend Michael from Sacramento who decided he enjoyed hanging out with us more than the friends he came with. From there we met up with our friend Dave as well as another friend of Erics named Corey. Now we have enough for a party.

Although we only visited Daddys and The Edge, we did have some fun and drinking in the streets. Lots of dancing and cocktails later, we ended up back at Edge where we hung out in the back. There was a group of people on their knees and a few people getting blow jobs in the corner. Happy Pride on that one lol.

So out late and up early, we were out of the house Sunday morning for the parade. Josh and I stopped for food at Posh Bagel and hopped on MUNI to Powell Street. We planted ourselves on the ledge to get a good view of the parade. Ben and Steve arrived shortly after with a friend of theirs names Matt. Steve and Eric arrived shortly after.

The parade was about 4 hours long (longer than last year) and was fantastic. I used up my 512MB SD card with pictures and video. The first time Ive filled the card since Ive had the camera.

We finally ran into Josh's friends Ari and Shera from NYC (hopefully spelled the name right) and when the parade was done we went for Thai food before heading to see the festivities at Civic Center. It was mobbed with people and after trying to figure out where we wanted to be, which stages to see, and find where we wanted to hang, we finally settled for dancing at the Radical Faeries area. We danced some more and had a blast. We ran into a couple of furrys there (one Josh knew and the other one I knew) and hung out till around 6. Ari and Shera went back to their hotel and finally we got a hold of Ste3ve and Eric after losing them along the way.

We were home by 6:30 and although I had original plans to go back out for a few, I collapsed from exhaustion at 6:30. I slept till 4am and after 9 1/2 hours sleep, I woke up feeling refreshed from rest. I guess I really needed the sleep.

So off to work this morning to meet with the CEO for our final day of training. Hopefully it will go well, and Im sure it will, but you never know. They have given me nothing but praise at work and Im really feeling good about the job.

Next week.... The Move!!!!!
