| Who
are we and why are we here? Many have asked this question, and the answer is simple. The Hayes Valley Leather title represents family, diversity, and growth within yourself and the community. How do we differe from other titles? Its simple. We are one of the truest forms of family you will see in the leather community. Although many other leather title holders are friends outside their titles, we are often seen together, as a group, as a family, whether its having brunch at Stacks, or at an event. The title itself is sponsored by Marlenas bar in Hayes Valley, San Francisco. The bar itself is a drag bar, which also hosts many events for the Imperial Council, Ducal Court, GSGRA Rodeo, as well as the leather event. You will find people who are gay, straight, transexual, transgender, male, female, in drag, in leather, and any other venue you can possibly think of. This is where diversity comes in. As for growth, you will find yourself growing in the leather community, and meet many people who are considered leaders in our community all around the world. You will find growth in yourself, as you compete for Mr San Francisco Leather, and possibly IML or ABW. The only requirement of becoming the next Mr Hayes Valley Leather would be to produce one fund raiser and to compete for Mr San Francisco Leather. If winning Mr San Francisco Leather, you would then represent that title at IML. If you dont win the title, you will still have the option of either competing at IML or ABW as Mr Hayes Valley Leather. This would be optional however all Hayes Valley Leather men have competed at IML for the experience (which I must say is amazing). My Experience as Mr Hayes Valley Leather 2008 |
